A way to approach things in a positive way. You try to not use prejudices against something unknown and try to appreciate it instead.

Culture
A collection of habits, traditions, values, clothes, music, religion, food ect.
Culture shock
A situation in which you feel desorientated because you are not familiar with the traditions, habbits, culture ect. of people and countries.
Curriculum
A collection of abilities, knowledges and attitudes children should have at the end of their schoolcarreer.
Developed
Having aquired a certain status in society considering economy, politis, human rights and so on.
Developing
On the way to be 'developed'. There is still some work that has to be done.
Dilemma
An extremely difficult choice between two different things.
Discourse
The conversations between a certain group of people which gives a meaning-system to certain things in society.
Diversity
Diversity means 'not the same, having differences between things/people. For example diversity in culture means that we have a big variety of different cultures in the world.
Ethnocentrism
The feeling that you belong to a kind of group/persons/culture or something like similar. You feel part of this group and the ideas/beliefs of them are very important to you.
Formal education
A process that gives every young kid the chance to get a proper education on a lot of different subjects.
Global citizen
A person who is very open-minded and who is not affraid to approach other cultures, traditions, religions, ect. He accepts the fact that the world becomes more and more globalized.
Globalisation
Is a cultural, social, economical and political process where the world becomes more and more as one big city. Everything and everybody becomes more and more connected to each other.
Ideology
The collection of ideas and believes you have about society, human beiings, politics, economy and other aspects of life.
Nationalism
A strong feeling of love for the region/country where you are living or where you come from. In certain regions of the world people have a strong feeling of love for their region.
Prejudice
This can be the result of stereotypes. When you for example see an unknow person from Iraq you will maybe think immediately that this person will be a terrorist although you do not know this person yet.
Relativistic concept of culture
Everey culture is equal, althought they have different aspects.
Stereotyping
A process where you generalise things to level of country or culture. For example: Swedish people always have a mullet, drink way too muh and get wasted.
